NOTES:

1. The Soviet Union or Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) dissolved at the end of 1991. At the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, twelve of the fifteen former Soviet republics competed as a joint team referred to as the Unified Team (UIN) or Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania competed as separate, independent countries. From the 1993 Worlds and onward, all fifteen former Soviet republics competed as independent nations, including Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Uzbekistan.

For athletes that first competed for the USSR at a Worlds or Olympics but continued competing for other teams (Boginskaya, Chusovitina, Galieva, Lysenko), all of their points are included on the USSR page and separately on the page for the independent nation.

2. Ukraine last qualified a full team to the Olympics in 2008.
